moonwork missive: waning gibbous 🌖

today with the newly-waning moon, i'm doing a lot of closing loops & following up. i'm at my not-exactly-mother-in-law's with my coparent & child while long-overdue repairs happen in my apartment. i'm discussing covid agreements with a collaborator. i'm office-hunting because my work landlord decided to convert our building to residential & now we need somewhere else to see clients.

it's fool's spring today where i live, so i also took my kid for a walk to see the ice near the edges of the path breaking up & melting, the cracks across the surface of the pond. they had a tromp in the mud & then in the snow to wash off the mud.

& i'm looking forward to spring, during which i'm facilitating a favourite program on shame in april, hosting a favourite bodyworker & somatics educator sage hayes to teach in my home city in may, and sharing the timely (re)launch of very exciting offerings from another favourite practitioner, m'kali-hashiki of erotic insurgency!

we have been blessed for most of MOONWORK's life cycle to have m'kali-hashiki leading our seasonal full moon rituals! this month, QTIBIPOC are invited to join her for a year of full-moon ritual practice in MOONKIN. while this obviously has not been a space where i've practiced myself, i can say that years of engaging in ritual with m'kali-hashiki has deepened my access to ritual & ancestral timespace, and my sense of tangible connection to my ancestors & ancestral deities. you can read more about her approach to ritual & sex magick here. enjoy!
