notice your body. notice your breath without trying to change it. get a little comfier.

and then a little comfier, and a little comfier still. notice what catches your attention about your body's current state. perhaps it is something that is pleasant; perhaps it is unpleasant; you don't have to change it.

find a way to collaborate with the thing you are noticing. this may be as simple as continuing to witness it without trying to change it, or there may be a way to give it a little more space, do it a little harder, support it in the same direction it is going, act on it a little bit more.

in collaborating––or blending––with our existing state & impulses, we practice rest & digest in a way that is attuned & flexible, rather than pinning down rest as a specific kind of still or calm & trying to discipline our bodies towards it. there is also rest in letting go of striving & critique!

widen your attention & notice your surroundings.

take some breaths / shake it off / walk it out
